Selztal Terroir Routes

On a total of three adventure circular trails you can enjoy wonderful views of the hills in the landscapes of the Selztal. Colourful vines, flowering orchids, grandiose panoramas, and ancient forests - what sounds like a description from a novel becomes reality in the Selztal.

Too good to be true, there's no such thing here. On your cultural treasure hunt, you can discover lookout towers, explore meadow-like woods, or cross a nature reserve. A true Mecca for pleasure hikers who appreciate cosiness and hospitality. If you want to notably improve your feel-good factor, just follow the traces of wine.

Selztal-Terroir-Route 1

Enjoy your hiking tour on the Jungheimer Weg, where you can enjoy a perfect view across orchids and vines. Hike on dry grassland and enjoy the panoramic vistas across the Taunus and the Selztal valleys. Hike across limestone and loess soil and master a difference in altitude of over 130m.

We need about 2 hours for this tour (difference in altitude, about 160 metres).

Selztal-Terroir-Route 2

The hiking tour takes you to the "Elftausend-Mägde-Turm", where you can relax on the terrace of the famous Weinberghaus with a glass of wine. Discover the Adam-Elsheimer-Weg (lime & sandstone soil), which leads you to the legendary Hieberg lookout, where you can climb the observation tower to enjoy the best possible view.

We need about 1.5 hours for this tour (difference in altitude, about 170 metres).

Selztal-Terroir-Route 3

This route is perfect for pleasure hikers: Hike across fruit fields with little difference in altitude. This hiking tour runs along the Selz, with its limestone and clay yellow soils. It is directly connected to the Selztal-Terroir-Route 2 and therefore offers you the perfect opportunity to combine enjoyment and experience on a hiking day.

We need about 1 - 1.5 hours for this route (about 130 metres altitude, difference).
